Artist Acro - Ch 34 (English)

Chapter 34! We return to the Subaru VS Baroque fight, and get to see how that's playing out. A heads up that some mild body horror stuff crops up in this chap again, nothing out of the norm for this series at this point but it might be nice for folks to know in advance.

This was another difficult one to translate, so apologies if the sentences sound wacky again and the word choice is less than coherent.

Two more chaps to go in the volume! O_O

Artist Acro - Ch 33 (English)

OK, chapter 33 done! Still doing my best to squeeze a chapter out once a month, and this one is pretty neat. We get the next bit of bit of plot kicked off, and *rubs hands together* some sweet skill developments!! It's actually very impressive to me how much stuff gets packed into 17 pages. I finished grabbing the raws for the rest of volume 4 though, and unfortunately my new questions surrounding Acro don't get answered anytime soon. Oh well.

We're getting there! Check it out in Artist Acro Chapter 33, typeset in English.

Artist Acro - Ch 32 (English)

It's still the 31st here so... Chapter 32 makes it in as the December update and final update of 2021!!! Whoooo~~~

So yeah I basically scrambled to put this together in time - I'd actually been thinking of completing an update by the 25th for all you Xmas celebrators out there, but it didn't happen, and for whatever reason I just. Kept thinking that I should do an update for the 25th, for all of last week, even though the 25th was long over?? Time has totally lost meaning to me. So I got my act together and edited this all yesterday, to make it in time for the month/year end. SAVED.

(Took a moment to read through some of my old posts on this blog and wow, I can't imagine maintaining a weekly update schedule at all anymore! How did I have so much motivation back then ;o;)

Fortunately, this one was very straightforward to translate, which is very odd for AA lol. We get some very interesting developments, a confusing flashback and an AA-typical abrupt chapter ending, so the perfect ending to this tumultuous year! Happy new year to everybody, and stay safe out there!

Artist Acro - Ch 31 (English)

Chapter 31 of Artist Acro done! It's been so long that I didn't even recognize the thumbnail pic I had for the 30th chapter post... ^^;

Kind of a quick one, somehow managed to do both transcription & translation/editing done in one weekend. It def helped that this chap had three double-spreads (one of which had no text whatsoever), and most of the text was actually on the easier side to translate this time. And with this I think I'm almost halfway through volume 4? The stock of raws I had captured so long ago now has been finished, so I gotta go back and get the rest of the volume now.

Another side note that I made a few edits and fixed some mistakes in Ch 28, nothing at all major, but still low-key embarrassing haha. The kicker is that I only bothered to proof-read/quality check it because I was preparing to upload it to MD (which I KEEP forgetting to do)... once I finish editing I'm just so tired of staring at these pages that I don't QC them at all lol.

OK, hope you enjoy Artist Acro Ch 31, typeset in English!

Artist Acro - Ch 30 (English)

The 30th Story! Man, I really thought I could get 2 chapters done this month since I actually started editing this chapter on the 1st... but then I got immensely distracted and somehow only managed to finish 3 weeks later, so that's not happening. Oh well.

Lotsa interesting tidbits in this one I think, along with the usual dose of "how the heck do I phrase this in English???"! Japanese really lends itself to clean phrasing in a way that English does not, so it's always a struggle to translate in a way that conveys as close of the same nuance as possible as the original Japanese. Or maybe it's just me and my wacko way of wording things - see the last sentence as Exhibit A.

In unrelated news, I'm still uploading these edits to MD (when I remember), and decided to try making a group for myself! It low-key bothers me to see the group field empty for whatever reason, so even though I'm an amateur one-man-scan-show, Hypothetical Scans will be filled in as the "group" name over on MD.

Anyway enough about all that, if you're reading here please enjoy Artist Acro Ch 30, typeset in English!

Artist Acro - Ch 29 (English)

29th chappie! Getting my now-monthly update in lol. Another one of those what-the-heck-are-they-trying-to-say-here ones, in which I flounder trying to translate some of the weirder idioms that google translate is too shallow to handle. Hopefully the TL isn't too jarring, and that it's still enjoyable!

Artist Acro - Ch 28 (English)

Chapter 28!!! Not much to say on this one; more setup in this chapter, hopefully we'll be getting to some meatier developments soon!

Really down to one update a month now huh ^_^;

Artist Acro - Ch 27 (English)

Volume 4, let's go!! It's been a while whoof, finally got a small kick of motivation to scanlate and fortunately, editing one page reminded me of how easy it is to do this (compared to some of the other stuff I have to do) and I burned through all 27 images in just a few days. It helps also that MD is finally back up and running (whoohoo!) and starting to upload there again as well is making me want to keep a good buffer in place again.

Raws for this volume have been pulled up to Chapter 31 or so, and on editing this one I realized that my the screenshotting boundaries in my python script are a bit off along the top and side so now there's a weird sliver of border along those edges :/ I suspect the dimensions change in each volume so the Honto reader boundaries change, so next time I go back to pull the remaining pages in this volume I'll probably have to adjust the coordinates. Not gonna go back and redo the pages I've already pulled, so hopefully it's not noticeable :)

Another fun one in Artist Acro Ch 27, typeset in English, so check it out!

Re-reading BK and hoo. This page still gives me chills. I am weak for this kind of naming and power-ups.

Still blows my mind that I managed to finish this amazing series myself.

Artist Acro - Vol 3 Omake (English)

Aaaaand we made it! Final bit of content for Artist Acro Volume 3! Feels pretty intense to have made it so far despite the dragging feet. This omake (bonus) wasn't very long page-wise, but hoo boy was there so much text to translate. Not sure if I've mentioned this before here, but I've noticed that while the chapters of Artist Acro are significantly shorter than that of Buster Keel, there's like twice the text in each page of AA while in BK there were many action-only pages. So the amount of TL and editing work across the two series isn't actually all that different.

Anyway this little extra was pretty entertaining! Hope I did a half-decent job on it and it's enjoyable to y'all too. I'll be moving on to collecting the raws for Volume 4 next, and resuming scanlating on Chapter 27 as time permits! Looking forward to it :D
